- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk

- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 and 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Set your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius and grease two 9-inch round cake pans
Mix together flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl
Stir in buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and vegetable oil
Blend until thoroughly blended
After adding the boiling water, stir the batter until it becomes smooth
Its okay that it will be thin
Evenly divide the batter among the cake pans that have been prepared
When a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, bake for 30 to 35 minutes
After taking the cakes out of the oven, allow them to cool in the pans for ten or so minutes before moving them to a wire rack to finish cooling
Prepare the chocolate ganache while the cakes are cooling down
Heat the heavy cream and unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat
Smoothly stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips
Take it off the heat and allow it to cool a little
Cover one of the cakes with a layer of chocolate ganache after they have cooled completely
After putting the second cake on top, cover the whole cake with the leftover ganache
To make a glaze, combine powdered sugar and vanilla extract in a small bowl
For decoration, drizzle it over the frosted cake
